Hot-dipped Galvanizing Processing

 Hot-dipped galvanized welded wire mesh and electro galvanized welded mesh are two types of galvanized welded wire meshes according to the galvanizing processing. In general, hot-dipped galvanizing processing includes four steps:

Surface preparation;
Refluxing;
Galvanizing;
Finishing.

Surface preparation
Before galvanizing, the steel should be cleaned to remove all the oils, greases, soils, mile scale and rust. The cleaning cycle usually consists of a degreasing step, followed by acid pickling to remove scale and rust, and fluxing, which inhibits oxidation of the steel before dipping in the molten zinc.

Refluxing
The reflux step serves to dissolve any oxide that may have formed on the iron or steel surface after pickling and prevents further rust from forming. There are two different fluxing methods, dry and wet. The dry process is accomplished by pre-fluxing in a zinc ammonium chloride solution. The wet process uses a molten flux blanket on the zinc bath surface.

Galvanizing
The process of hot-dip galvanizing results in a metallurgical bond between zinc and steel with a series of distinct iron-zinc alloys. Galvanizing is the practice of immersing clean, oxide-free iron or steel into molten zinc in order to form a zinc coating that is metallurgically bonded to the iron or steel's surface.

Finishing
Finishing operations include quenching, removing excess zinc and inspection.

The hot dip galvanizing process is adaptable to coating nearly all types of fabricated and non-fabricated products such as hot-dipped galvanized wire, hot dipped galvanized welded wire mesh and so on.
